| This temple is one of the
largest in China and was used as the Imperial College, where the court
giving lectures to thousand of Confucian students. Here it also recorded
all the successful candidates in the civic service examination. It is
the world first high education ever established in the early history of
mankind. Every year all Confucian students had to pass the local
examination to become a qualified candidate for the annual civil service
examination. Among over 8,000 candidates, only the first best three
would be selected to serve the imperial court. Many of them had taken
the whole life to chase the dream of success in the examination. With
the success, fame and fortune would follow.
